Pretty much the Genesis of bleepy Techno-House/Rave. You can credit LFO for influencing Detroit artists like Jeff Mills and Richie Hawtin. They were doing this before Waveform Transmissions and X-101. It is a myth that everything started in Detroit and Chicago. Producers in the Midwest and East Coast of the USA and UK/Mainland Europe had been bouncing ideas back and forth since the 1950's and the early days of Rock N Roll/BeBop/DooWop/Skiffle. All the way through to Soul, Psychedelic/Acid Rock, Glam, Punk, Funk, Disco, House, Techno, Synth, New Wave, even Hip Hop drew many influences from German Electro (i.e Kraftwerk) and New Wave music coming out of the UK. Someday I hope to see the true history of Techno and House laid out for the younger generations instead of the constant mythmaking spun out of Detroit and Chicago that tries to paint a completely Afrocentric picture of a music that was in fact created by Blacks, Whites, and everyone in between. Hip-Hop people try to do the same exact thing, claiming Hip-Hop as an exclusively Afrocentric music with its roots exclusively in Black Culture. Just is not so. Without the contributions of people like Kraftwerk, Arthur Baker, Keith LeBlanc, Rick Rubin, etc. there would be no Hip-Hop as we know it today (not that it's anything to write home about at this point in 2014). It would be something completely different. As Hip-Hop culture has become more and more exclusively Black, and as it shuts out contributions and influence by other cultures, it is fast digging itself into a hole which resembles a grave from where I'm standing. : Nacht Schreck
