Low wages , minimal tax paid, mini Hitlers watching over you - what a inspirational company to work for ......... : Thomas Davies
I work at a fulfillment center in California and making rate is hard but it can be done. People who say they (Amazon) is too hard on its employees I think honestly just can't cut it. The work is fast and they let you know that from the start people catch rate easily there and even surpass it by a lot. So if one can't make it, then that speaks ion the employee trying to catch it. I don't always hit the rate a few days I struggle but for the most part I do well. Its a great place to work I love it. : emmanuel valencia
she asks the dumbest questions possible : Joseph Kony
I'm from Indianapolis and I I did picking at the Amazon fulfillment center in Whitestown, IN last year for a whopping 3 days. They couldn't pay me enough to go back to that bs. I got written up on my 2nd damn day for having a 70 something production rate instead of 80 something (my 2nd day on the floor). This was after I was ordered to walk the length or width (can't remember which) of the 1.2 million square foot warehouse about 4 times because the end I was supposed to be on ran out of carts. Then the area I went sent to sent me back and I got sent back AGAIN and sent back AGAIN. All that then they expect you to power walk your entire 10 hour shift. I never went back after that. There is NO rhyme or reason to their picking process. You could get an item in aisle 1 then the next item is on aisle 90 then the next is on 5 or something for the same order. Not to mention the giant blisters all over my feet and horrible muscle cramps in the middle of the night. Oh and there is either 4k or 7k people that work at that location. Getting in and out of there was nothing short of a nightmare let alone your lunch break with all those people piling in there. Now I did bring home $450 after taxes for those 3 days but now I make more money doing easier work. It's funny because they started calling me recently to go back. No thank you. : LushLife1325
The scanner times the pickers though, expecting each picker to pull at least 2.2 items per minute in their 10 hour shift, even if the next item they need to pull is on the other end of the warehouse from where they presently are. : InuKun2008
All I can say is wow !! : Larry Lafferty

Amazon will pack anything the same speed, the difference is when the order is released to get packed. Amazon prime orders get released to the system immediately, you even get email confirmation instantly, and you get it in 2 days; where non- prime orders are electronically held up, or those orders would arrive just as quick. It takes me 10 days to get the same order that I used to get 2 days when I was prime, the only difference is non- prime is flagged and purposely not released to packing. So in essence, we are paying Amazon to be Prime members so they don't hold our orders back, as everything is under the same roof that is amazon fulfilled. Would be like going to Walmart paying for your groceries, but they don't let you have them for 10 days. It's BS! : f355911tt

According to an undercover BBC Panorama investigation, the warehouse pickers are under terrific stress. You can see it or download via BBC iPlayer. "Amazon: The Truth Behind the Click". Also, although they lets other companies trade, they cannot compete because they must pay 15% on top. : Jeorney

It's like working at walmart : Brandon Fiore
It is not a bad way of earning money and it requires basically no skill but the terms and conditions are just very sad. You need to be available every day of the week being deployed in morning, afternoon or evening shifts. Contract is usually just temp and based on flexworking, sometimes you can fill 40+ hour workweek the next there is very little work to do giving uncertainty. Oh yea and i have seen excellent teamleaders and some very bad ones. Also everything in logistics is based on numbers so if you are slow one day with doing stuff, oh dear they are onto you. I remember when I had a slow day at an office job, most normal thing in the world nobody cared but if you dont meet the qouta in jobs like these, lol.. they might call you up one day after work stating you are no longer required. : RemmkeTV
