A teraz wreszcie można to zamówić u siebie :)#ecommerce #logistics #ecommercetips : Dawid Dutkiewicz
@Mannafett I think it's hard to compare them actually. Been reading up on the systems for fun. AutoStore is by far the best in space efficiency, but it has limitation when it comes the size of goods, where KIVA can handle large item. I do not know about wieght limitation for autostore, but i KIVA can have fiarly heavy TV sets. : evilfish2000
Robots crashing is not a problem... :-) They are well Controlled by the software. The AutoStore system offers great operational advantages because all robots acts as independent modules. One defect robot, then all others will continue to work and there is still access to all items. Regards elementlogic.eu : ghjens
@v3ndril Ya I think your right :p : Kagstrom2100
@TheSwanies Ok Ok, I'm not saying that the CPU can't do it, I'm saying: how many hours the system works without problems?? Crash at 100 or 1000 hours... it's the same, the bots needs hight precision and reliability... and if this is true, the bots will be very expensie. The system is inovative, and i like it, but it's complex, and the complex things usually fail. : Ruben A
: JSH9J
@evilfish2000 I guess it depends on what you need from your system. If you have a large warehouse and don't need space efficiency , then Kiva could be your solution. But if you need to use every square foot of your warehouse to save rental costs, heating cost etc. Then AutoStore is your thing. The bin distrubution is always being arranged to have fast-runners on top, while Kiva would not have this feautre; storing both fast and slow goods in the same shelves.Pick performance and cost is similar : Mannafett
@jeffreyindri She tells it in the end :) The system figures what items are used more often and puts the in the top. Then if they need some of the less frequently used items, it plans ahead and yes, it digs into the columns :D : Andreas Christensen
Very cool! : Denth
@manolodelano I guess a crash every 10'th year. : TheSwanies
Fantastisk system.
In order to take the box below that this is necessary to remove first the top, five or more boxes and place them somewhere else? : Jefrey indriago
Yes, the robots needs to dig. Its done in advance by a queue of orders. Then there is a amount of prepared boxes on top ready for quick delivery. For every box picked, a new orderline will be prepared. - Frequently picked boxes will "live" on the top levels, and rarely picked boxes will by time move further down realizing a fully frequence-sorted system. -Extreme space usage -Great picking speed -Very low power consumption (less weight in movement) Regards elementlogic.eu : ghjens
@marezio52 Creating jobs doesn't solve the problem this world has. The root of our problem is far deeper then that. But that's a whole different discussion entirely! : OsirisNO
Hmm. Effektivt må jeg si. : xzbyte2002
@evilfish2000 Have you worked whit autostore? : 0Erag0n
I think they still do the large bits the old fashioned way. I have been inside that warehouse several times, and they have a lot of shelves with large stuff. : Smenny
They will not crash, they are not humans. : Jose Miguel
iRobot :O : CmdRauN
what with the bigger packages sizes ? : rami aburshaid
I will make a correction...... What I actually meant is what is the maximum weight of products allowed to be in one box? : juku101010
I think the KIVA system is better than this. : evilfish2000
THEY TOK URR JEEEWBS : Waceo
: FirmaDigitum
Now if they could check how myany products there where that would be awsome :D : Kagstrom2100
is this technique used for a certain capacity of packages ? what with the largest capacities : rami aburshaid
I ordered my new computer yesterday, so hopefully this system can deliver all of the parts today! : Smenny
@Kagstrom2100 I'm sure that they would scan all items going in and out of the bins. This would be very easy to track inventory. Otherwise how would the box know when it was empty? : v3ndril
I have worked with autostore for a week now.. Not tried the Kiva system doh.. But Autostore works very well and is fast.. With kiva you will take all the products of the self to yourself but with autostore you only take one bin.. And if your good you can pakc 2.6 products per minut so 160 in one hour.. : 0Erag0n
Gi meg jobben. : Norsk Stolthet
What about rather large items? i.e. Office printers and other items of similar size? : Hector Maddock- Greene
This is the reason sites like komplett have huge amount of shipping costs. : MakkeSk8
No thats quite sane, and its the way we need to go, in the future humans will be doing innovation, control and maintenance, and then we will start slipping on those 3 also, maintenance will be the first to be marginalized and new AIs will lead to us doing less innovation and controlling.. This is just a part of why capitalism isn't sustainable in the long run (very few people will actually have a job to do). : RnRfarmer
If you want a box located at botton, the robots pick up all the boxes above? this is a long time... i don't understand... you need a previous order list or something... beside the manage system to move the robots in a chaotic enviroment has to be complicated... i'm sure that the robots will crash... and then, who will go on the top of warehouse to repair it...jeje : Ruben A
Im guessing from the rails. If not they got some huge batteries. : Vermacian
@juku101010 Currently max is 30kg, due to the plasting bins. The robots can lift more. : Karl Hatteland
